TOURS

** Minesite tours will be open for booking very soon.

Buses will depart the Adelaide Convention Centre on the evening of 25th March (after the Conference Closing Networking function) and are expected to arrive into Roxby Downs around midnight ready for an approximate 6am start on 26th March.

TOUR 1: Olympic Dam Surface Operations, Olympic Dam Underground and Carrapateena Surface Operation and Tailings Facility
  • Cost will be subject to final itinerary and actual destinations toured
  • Participants will be able to add this to an existing conference booking
  • The tours are open to MetPlant 2026 Delegates only
  • Places will be on a first in, first served basis and will be confirmed on receipt of full payment and completion of documentation, including acceptance of accommodation arrangements (which will have single or twin share options).

In the meantime, the list below of Health and Wellness Requirements from BHP should be used to assess your eligibility to attend. Please note that this list is not exhaustive but if you have any of these conditions, restrictions or declarations you WILL NOT be allowed to participate – regardless of whether you have paid or not. Please read them carefully before considering the next steps.

Also you must be available to participate in the tour in its entirety. There are large distances to be travelled and logistically very complex. People wanting to alter the itinerary will be making things difficult for others who wish to attend. You will need to do site inductions and underground induction for every site you visit.

This tour WILL SELL out so please be conscious of taking away a spot from a colleague or fellow professional who is just as deserving of this opportunity. The MetPlant and CCM teams will not be liable for any flights missed as a result of changes to travel plans. If you are planning to attend and have to travel on to other domestic or international destinations upon your return to Adelaide, please err on the side of caution for these flights.
