Workshop A:

Metcelerate - Excellence in Mineral Processing: Skills, Strategies & Success Factors

Duration: 1 ½ days

Dates: Sat 21 & Sun 22nd March

Outline: This course will provide context for aspiring professionals entering the field of mineral processing, or for professionals from related fields who need a working understanding of the discipline.

A course designed to strengthen professional know-how and equip leaders and stakeholders to make informed, high-impact decisions. This workshop explores the critical value of metallurgical expertise and how to ensure you and your team are performing at the highest standard. Expert presenters will explore the critical points where value is created—or lost—across the mine-to-metal value chain.

Participants will gain a clear understanding of the knowledge and skills needed to optimise metallurgical performance. Mining leaders will sharpen their decision-making insight and learn the right questions to ask, while emerging professionals will identify where to focus, build their expertise, and maximise their impact.

Workshop B:

JKTech - Evaluating your Metallurgical Accounting System

Duration: 1 day

Date: Sun 22nd March

Outline:
An introductory course focused on the practical considerations for ensuring a fit-for-purpose metal accounting and reconciliation system at operating sites, including how to conduct a basic gap analysis against the AMIRA P754 Code of Practice and Guidelines.
This course addresses the growing gap between the importance of metallurgical accounting and the limited training and mentoring available to early-career metallurgists. With increasing industry demand for audits and compliance with the AMIRA P754 Code of Practice, there is a clear need for practical, skills-based training. Drawing on JKTech’s practical audit experience, the course equips participants with the tools to critically assess their site’s metal accounting systems and improve the reliability of production data—ultimately reducing financial risk and enhancing operational transparency.
There is a practical activity at the end where participants are able to complete a basic review of their operation and obtain practical feedback and guidance.

Workshop C:

CEEC - Transforming the Flowsheet for Tailings: Innovation for a Sustainable Future

Duration: 1 day

Outline: An interactive workshop dedicated to unlocking strategies that enable viable, cost-effective and safe strategies for tailings management, that improve safety, reduce water and footprint.
Tailings management solutions generally fall towards one of two bookends; wet thickened tailings, or pressure filtered and dry stacked tailings. However, there are a range of intermediate solutions and 'tricks' around managing particle sizes that have the potential to create a range of other viable tailings management options. This workshop will explore these options for existing and new projects.
Tailings management is a critical challenge for the resources industry, with growing focus on water efficiency, safety, and environmental performance. This workshop fills a gap by addressing tailings design within the entire processing flowsheet, linking comminution, classification, filtration, and deposition.
The independent, collaborative format promotes cross-disciplinary learning and practical innovation, helping industry professionals gain practical insights, share experiences, and identify opportunities for innovation and future research to improve tailings performance and sustainability.

Workshop F:

JKTech - Introduction to Geometallurgy: Bridging Geology and Metallurgy

Duration: 2 days

Dates: Thurs 26th and Fri 27th March
Cost: $1000 plus GST

Outline: An introductory course that will focus on ‘strategic geometallurgy’ including principles and practices, general workflow and relevant case studies.
The objective of this course is to equip participants with a solid understanding of geometallurgy principles and practices, emphasising the integration of geological and metallurgical data to optimise resource extraction and processing. A key focus will be on the JKTech methodology, enabling participants to apply these techniques to real-world mining scenarios. By the end of the course, participants should know the general workflow required for a geometallurgy program using the JKTech methodology
